Newcastle-bred swimmer Thomas Fraser Holmes says his gold medal haul in Glasgow has taken his confidence to a new level – especially his effort in the 200 freestyle.
“I’ve got a good time that sits me number one in the world right now and I’ve got to come out here on Thursday and try and replicate the time I did in Glasgow, if I don’t do that sort of time I don’t think it’ll be competitive.”
Fraser Holmes has even hinted he could add the 400 free to his already packed program in the future.
For now, the 22-year-old is looking forward to competing in front of family members who have travelled from the Hunter to the Gold Coast for the Pan Pacs.
