PROTESTORS GATHER OUTSIDE T4 PUBLIC HEARING

Protestors have gathered outside of Newcastle Panthers, where a public hearing is about to start for a proposed fourth coal terminal.

The Port Waratah Coal Services project has attracted plenty of community opposition in the past, with environmental and air quality issues among the concerns.

If approved, the T4 project would allow 70-million tonnes of coal to be exported annually.

The Planning Assessment Commission will listen to more than 120 residents and groups who have registered to speak over the next two days.

We’ll bring you more details and pictures of the hearing on NBN News at 6.
