Almost all of New South Wales, apart from the far north east, received some rain over the past 24 hours.
The heaviest falls were over Sydney from the damaging storms. Cessnock, Pokolbin and Maitland fared okay with 30-millimetres, but totals were mostly small elsewhere, less than 10-millimetres.
The rain event is ready to ramp up a gear over the next 24 hours and better rain is expected across the very dry North West.
Saturday is also looking good for the broadcast region, before the rain eases off during Sunday.
From next Monday, the rain is expected to ramp back up again, with decent follow-up falls continuing into the middle of next week.
