WEATHER: A SWELL WEEKEND

A succession of fast-moving fronts, and now an intense low in the Tasman, is generating a solid swell pummeling the New South Wales coast. The swell is going to remain big across the weekend.

Winds have been quite favourable to produce some epic surfing conditions, but strong rips and huge sets are making for dangerous conditions.

The weather is looking pretty good. The risk of showers is going to to remain on the small side for the northern New South Wales coast, so most of the broadcast region can expect a fine, mostly sunny weekend.
