WET WEATHER COSTS NEWCASTLE/HUNTER IN COUNTRY RUGBY TITLES

Newcastle/Hunter’s game plan at the New South Wales Country Rugby Championships was to play an expansive game, with speed out wide, but conditions at Bowral didn’t help the cause.
Instead, the wet weather played into the hands of the local Illawarra rep side, and its big forward pack.
The visitors trailed 16-7 at the break, and the deterioration of the ground made life even more difficult in the second half, as Illawarra won 24-14.
