A 23-year-old woman has died following a three-car crash, that has closed John Renshaw Drive, west of Newcastle.
The accident happened near the intersection with the M1 Motorway, just after 4pm.
Two people have been freed from the wreckage and transferred to John Hunter Hospital suffering serious injuries.
Two others have been treated for minor injuries.
Diversions are in place via the Hunter Expressway.
