Police have confirmed it was 57-year-old man from Blackalls Park, who died in a light plane crash in the Hunter Valley yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Lovedale just after midday and found the wreckage in thick bushland, about 20-metres off Lovedale Road.
It’s believed the pilot took off from Cessnock Airport, before crashing a short distance away.
Police and Recreation Aviation Australia are investigating what caused the crash.
