The Awabakal Land Council has blamed quote, “internal governance issues” for the lack of action in repairing the former Newcastle Post Office.
In a statement, the group says the dismissal of former CEO Steven Slee was “unauthorised” and delayed the building’s redevelopment.
The land council has still not given a reason for Mr Slee’s sudden departure, other than to say it’s being investigated.
It adds it hopes to commence work on the post office soon.
