Newcastle Airport has been shortlisted, to receive a share of $95-million in state government funding for infrastructure upgrades.
If successful, the funds will go towards fitting out the new international terminal, improving parking and building a coach interchange.
The airport is one of 24 projects hoping to access funding under the Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund.
