A man, who viciously assaulted two female cleaners at Medowie last year, has been jailed for 13 years with a non-parole period of nine years and nine months.
Adam John Medcalf was sentenced in Newcastle District Court today over the February 5 attacks, which left the young women with severe head and facial injuries.
They were cleaning a vacant rental property at the time.
The victims’ families say they are satisfied with the sentence for such a cowardly and unprovoked attack, and added no sentence is long enough in their eyes.
Medcalf will be eligible for parole in 2023.
