A Newcastle woman got the surprise of her life, when she discovered she was a millionaire 10 days after winning the lotto.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the ticket from Marketown Newsagency in Newcastle West.
The woman was unaware she’d won a $1-million first division prize until last week, 10 days after the draw.
“I’m a bit in shock to be honest but I’m sure it will sink in later on,” said the winner.
“This prize money has come at a very good time. I’ll share my windfall with my family and an old friend who’s struggling a little at the moment.”
