Ballina will soon have its new marine rescue tower, after 15 years of campaigning.
The state government announced on Wednesday it would contribute a further $215,000 towards the $2-million project.
Ballina MP Tamara Smith says a further $200,000 has also been secured through the Community Building Partnership program.
It’s a welcome relief for the volunteer service, who have been operating from a building with limited visibility of the seaway since last month.
