ROADSIDE DRUG TESTING UNDER FIRE

Greens MLC David Shoebridge is calling for changes to roadside drug testing, following a public forum in Nimbin this morning.

He says drivers in the region are being “bullied” and the current regime doesn’t accurately measure impairment.

Prohibition causes SO many problems. Charging people with having a substance present that is not affecting ability is beyond a joke, it is unfathomable. How this can even happen?
Meanwhile, other drugs that DO affect ability are being ignored.

Thank crist this is getting attention. I keep thinking. Why is it that now after using it for half my life is it meant to impair me while Iam on a motorcycle. yet I have been a full time rider for over 14 years with no crash at all! Thats rain hail or shine every day 48km each way to work. Been waiting to get drug tested and have it destroy my life!

Ridiculous, picking up stuff people have ingested days before!! Yes I worry, as I take medical cannabis, all cold pressed oils, no high whatsoever, yet it could be picked up in a saliva test? Absurd. Yet OK, to take a mountain of psych meds, that DO impair driving? If you test for drugs, test for all of them, EVEN THE PRESCRIPTION ONES>
