FULL DAY FOR THE WESTPAC RESCUE CHOPPER

It’s been a busy day for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter across the region today.

The most delicate operation involved the retrieval of a 55-year-old woman who fell down a steep gully whilst bush walking at Wallaringa, south west of Dungog around 1:30pm today. The patient had a badly broken ankle and needed to be extricated by winch with the assistance of local SES and RFS crews.

But operations began around 9:30 this morning with the transport of a 57-year-old female from Tamworth to John Hunter Hospital suffering a cardiac condition.

Shortly before midday, an 88-year-old female with a heart condition was also transported to John Hunter Hospital from Coffs Harbour.
