NO MAJOR SURPRISES IN BUDGET FOR FAR NORTH COAST

No major surprises for the Far North Coast, in today’s budget – the state government largely delivering on existing funding commitments.

However, an additional $1.4-million has been set aside for shark management strategies in the region.

While, $2.8-million will go towards Ballina Hospital upgrades.

As promised, $75-million has been allocated towards Lismore Base Hospital’s ongoing redevelopment.

Previously announced funding for road projects and airport upgrades also came through.

$6-million will be spent building a ski jump training facility at Lennox Head, while $12-million will go towards safety upgrades on Mount Lindesay road.
