BOARDRIDERS PROTEST BALLINA BARRIER INSTALLATION

Boardriders bemoaning the imminent installation of a shark barrier at Ballina, say the DPI hasn’t listened to them.

Protestors believe safety concerns have been ignored – a claim the department strongly denies.

for a beach so popular with surfers and being such a swell magnet this is a very stupid and dangerous idea. first big swell will proberly wash it in too. alot of drag on this so called eco net. and alot of sand moves during a big swell. what if a shark gets inside it and cant get out?
