NSW Police have been led on a wild car chase all the way from Port Stephens to Sydney.
It’s alleged the male driver was travelling at speeds exceeding 200km/h when highway patrol spotted the Mercedes near Warnervale, on the Central Coast, yesterday.
The 34-year-old driver made a quick stop at the southbound M1 Caltex, where a male passenger jumped out of the vehicle.
He’s been arrested and is currently assisting police.
The driver continued down the M1, despite numerous road spikes.
He was eventually stopped at Wahroonga, in northern Sydney, and taken to Hornsby Police Station, where he returned a positive mid-range breath test.
He’s been charged with a number of offences, including police pursuit, and has had his bail refused in Parramatta Court today.
