Two men are on the run after an armed robbery at a licensed business on the Gold Coast this morning.
Police allege the two men entered the premises on the Old Pacific Highway in Oxenford at around 3.40am armed with a machete and a hammer.
The intruders threatened staff before one of the men jumped the counter and stole money from the cash register. The pair then fled in a vehicle that had been parked outside. No one was injured at the time.
One man is described as around 30-years-old with an olive complexion. He was wearing a mask and gloves, black cap with a yellow emblem, dark hooded jacked with a white emblem, dark long pants also with a white emblem and white shoes with three dark stripes.
He was carrying a large machete with Chinese characters on the blade.
The second man is described as having a slim build and was wearing a dark mask, a black hooded jumper with a small white emblem on the hood, long dark pants and white shoes.
The vehicle is described as a small black hatchback.
Police also have possession of a gold link necklace believed to have been dropped at the scene by one of the men, and urge anyone with information about the crime to come forward.
