NEW LOOK FOR OXIDE PARK

There were plenty of smiles in Port Macquarie today, as the new-look Oxide Park officially opened to the community.

The $60,000 facelift involved transforming the site into a more vibrant and family-friendly area.

Among the new attractions – a nature play space, painted basketball court and scooter tracks.

“We felt the park needed a meeting place so we could come up here and discuss the bigger ideas of the world, the big pictures – and I’m really happy to say our brief was taken – so we ended up making a mural, we presented it to the landscaper and away we went.” Hastings Preschool Director Meryl Trotter said.

It was funded by the State Government and Council – with strong input from local children, and a range of community groups.
