Port Macquarie cyclist Lauren Kitchen has started the Women’s Tour Down Under in Adelaide with a 10th place finish in the first stage.
The 26-year-old completed the 106 kilometre course in 2 hours and 52 minutes – a minute and one second behind the winner.
Now based in Europe, Kitchen has joined the New South Wales Institute of Sport team for the event.
