INTERSECTION UPGRADE TO START

Work to improve one of Port Macquarie’s most dangerous intersections will begin tomorrow.

Four serious crashes have occurred at the intersection of Hill and Granite Streets since 2009.

The $238,000 works include a new roundabout, traffic islands and some kerb realignment.

“There will be traffic control in place throughout the duration of the works and we ask that motorists take heed of that traffic control and are patient with us during that time, there will be some road closures during that time, mostly for the granite street access,” Port Macquarie-Hastings Council’s Duncan Clarke said.

The work is expected to take six to eight weeks.
