DRIVER CHARGED OVER ALLEGED GOLD COAST HIT-AND-RUN

A man has been charged after a hit-and-run at Surfers Paradise early this morning.

A 38-year-old man from Hollywell presented himself to Southport Police Station this afternoon where he was arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

He also faces a charge of possessing a knife in a public place.

The man will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
