Fire crews were quick top respond when a fire erupted in bushland just south of Coffs Harbour’s Southern Cross Univeristy campus late this morning.
Crews from the city and Sawtell arrived to find the tinder dry bushland opposite John Paul College well alight and a heavy plume of black smoke spiralling into the air.
Luckily they were able to bring in under control in around 20 minutes.
It’s believed to have started at a log in the centre of a clearing about 50 metres from Hogbin Drive.
