The extraordinary acts of servicemen and women were remembered right across Lake Macquarie and the lower Hunter.

Among those paying tribute in Maitland – officers from its namesake city.

What a shame NBN… Wangi Anzac Day Service had the most people that we’ve ever seen in our 45 years as Wangi residents. The parade of ex service vehicles are the most anywhere in Australia and you, NBN never televised any of it. What a shame.

Hi Robyn and David. Thanks for your feedback. As you can imagine, every town hold it’s own ANZAC Day commemorative services and we need to be fair to every area within our coverage range. NBN News has attended Wangi services for the past two to three years, so it was another towns turn this year. We were aware of the ex-service vehicles being showcased and it’s significance to residents, hence why we previewed the parade in a story last week. Wangi therefore had it’s own dedicated ANZAC story, something most towns don’t receive. You can view this piece in our previous stories posted under the Newcastle banner on our website. We always take into consideration stories ideas that are sent to us, so in future if there is a story you believe needs to be told please call our office, or email it to news@nbntv.com.au
