ROY O’DONOVAN HANDED 10-GAME BAN

Newcastle Jets striker Roy O’Donovan has been handed a 10 match ban for his challenge on Melbourne Victory keeper Lawrence Thomas in the A-League Grand Final.

The FFA’s independent Disciplinary & Ethics Committee announced the sanction this afternoon, after reviewing the incident at a hearing last week.

O’Donovan will miss 10 games, which can include A-League and FFA Cup fixtures.

The Newcastle Jets have indicated they will challenge the ban.
