The future of a number of heritage rail items at Broadmedow appears to be clearer, with the collection set to be moved to a new storage facility in Sydney.
Transport Heritage NSW today confirmed the former Chullora Railway Workshops in Sydney’s west will house a collection of the state’s heritage railway items, including from the Broadmeadow Roundhouse.
The Broadmeadow site was closed to volunteers late last year.
In a statement Transport NSW said “the Government is committed to the preservation of important buildings including the Broadmeadow Roundhouse which will be adapted for new uses.”
