Upgrades to the notorious Alstonville bypass are complete, with a trial to start this Thursday banning drivers from a right hand turn onto the highway in the afternoons.
39-year-old Jeremy Plooy died in a crash at the Ballina Road junction in August.
Despite the changes, his mother is furious that so little has been done to improve safety.
