POLICEMAN RECOVERING AFTER SURGERY

The Coffs Harbour policeman, who was run down by a car yesterday on the Pacific Highway, underwent surgery overnight on his fractured leg.

The incident at Warrell Creek was captured on dash cam and shows a blue car veering sharply onto the road shoulder where it struck the highway patrolman.

The 48-year-old had just pulled over the driver of a black Subaru.

He suffered multiple fractures to his leg and was treated on scene by a passing doctor before being transported to Coffs Harbour Hospital.

He remains there in a stable condition.
