Police spent Friday morning examining a unit at Hamilton South, gutted by an overnight fire.
The unoccupied property on Neill Terrace went up in flames at around a quarter to nine.
It took fire crews just over an hour to extinguish the blaze – a neighbouring property suffered smoke damage.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
