TEENAGE RFS VOLUNTEER CHARGED OVER DELIBERATELY LIT FIRES

A 17-year-old boy has been charged in relation to a number of suspicious fires at Lake Macquarie.

The teenager, who is also an RFS volunteer, was arrested at Glendale on Monday night and charged with three counts of lighting a fire and being reckless to its spread.

It’s alleged the teen lit a fire on Archery Road at Wakefield last Friday, along with two other fires at Teralba last year.

He was granted strict conditional bail, and will face a children’s court next month.
