MAN CHARGED OVER WARATAH ROBBERY

Charges have been laid against a 32-year-old man, alleged to have been involved in a late night robbery in the Newcastle suburb of Waratah last week.

The man was charged with four offences, including two counts of robbery armed with a dangerous weapon.

He was also charged for his alleged involvement in an armed hold up in Winston Hills, Sydney earlier this month.

Tactical police arrested the man outside a Castle Hill hotel on Saturday.

A search of a nearby hotel room, along with a home in Newcastle located several items, including two firearms, $6000 in cash and prohibited drugs.

The man’s due back in Parramatta Bail Court later today.
