Former NRL star Jamie Lyon will NOT be returning to the N-triple-R-L after a premiership-winning season as Ballina’s captain-coach.
The 37-year-old came out of retirement this year, after leaving the Manly Sea Eagles at the end of 2016.
Under Lyon, the Seagulls lost only two games before a 38-18 grand final win over Murwillumbah in front of a bumper home crowd in September.
Meanwhile, Byron Bay captain-coach Todd Carney has signed on with the Red Devils for another two years.
