MAN IGNORING PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER CHARGED WITH DRUG POSSESSION

Police have charged a man allegedly found with meth and an axe at Lake Macquarie yesterday.

Police spoke to the 30-year-old in the driver’s seat of a parked car at Morisset, who allegedly did not give a reasonable excuse for being there.

After searching the vehicle, police found methamphetamine and a throwing axe.

The man was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station, given a number of charges, including drug possession, failing to comply with a public health order, and breaching his bail.

The man faced Newcastle Local Court yesterday, to appear at Toronto Local Court on May 8.
