CESSNOCK MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG AND WEAPONS OFFENCES

A man’s been charged after police allegedly found weapons and drugs at a home in Cessnock yesterday.

Officers from Hunter Valley Police District Target Action Group stopped a 26-year-old man driving along Quarrybylong Street, where police allegedly located an electronic stun gun and a home-made pistol.

Methylamphetamine and ammunition for the pistol were also found.

Police then executed a search warrant at a house in High Street, Cessnock.

They allegedly located more methylamphetamine, a home-made garotte, machetes and knives.

The 26-year-old was arrested and charged with 11 drug and weapons offences including.

He’s been refused bail and will appear in Newcastle Local Court on Monday.
