GAV’S WEATHER | EAST COAST DELUGE CONTINUES

One of the biggest rain events in decades is under way.

Records continue to tumble and properties are likely to go under as rivers swell and low lying areas flood on the mid north coast.

The east coast from the Clarence Valley to the Illawarra/Shoalhaven remain under threat.

The deepening coastal trough will continue to bombard the mid north coast with heavy flooding rain periods.

The intense rain band will move south tonight across the Greater Hunter and onto the Sydney basin overs the weekend.

On Sunday, another intense rain band is likely to affect the Coffs Coast.

The rain will continue to be intense for the mid north coast, extending from the Coffs Coast to Greater Hunter and Central Coast over the weekend.

Scattered showers reaching the Tablelands and parts of the north-west.
