Forster swimmer Nash Wilkes picked up his first gold medal at the Australian National Championships on the Gold Coast this morning.
The 19-year-old swam a personal best in the 100-metres breaststroke for his age group, hitting the wall in just under one minute and three seconds.
Perhaps even more impressively, he finished 10th overall – standing him in good stead for his future in the sport.
He will compete in 50 and 200-metre breaststroke events in the coming days.
