An elderly woman has been rushed to Lismore Base Hospital after being hit by a car while cycling in Ballina.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Fox Street shortly after 11 o’clock this morning.
A section of the road was temporarily closed while officers from the crash investigation unit analysed the scene.
The patient, aged in her 80s, is in a serious condition with head injuries.
