A elderly woman has died after getting into the passenger side of a parked car, before it suddenly reversed and mounted a curb on Ballina’s main street.
The 82-year-old was thrown to the ground and suffered serious head injuries.
She later died at Lismore Base Hospital.
The driver – an 88-year-old woman – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Police are investigating.
