KYOGLE COUNCIL APPLIES FOR 2.5% RATE INCREASE

Residents in the Kyogle Shire will have a hit to the hip pocket after the local Council applied for a special variation to increase their income from rates.

The 2-point-5 per cent single year increase was called for to improve the council’s financial sustainability, while allowing it to continue delivering existing services and infrastructure.

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal will determine whether to approve the application by mid-May.
