RESIDENTS EVACTUATED AS CAR BLAZE SPARKS EXPLOSION AND ROCKS APARTMENTS

Flames have taken hold at a carpark in Newcastle, destroying vehicles and sending smoke through the apartment block above.

Emergency crews raced to the scene – using ladders to evacuate dozens of residents.
