A fuel spill has been contained on Clarkes Beach in Byron Bay.
Emergency servies called late Monday afternoon, after reports diesel was flowing from a storm water drain into the ocean.
Fire and Rescue, a HAZMAT team, council and the department of Fisheries all responding.
Booms deployed in a bid to absorb the fuel – the incident now under investigation.
