He’s renowned for working with retired veterans,
but Taree’s Darcy Elbourne is this month turning his attention to sick children.
The 71-year-old is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge- riding 1000 kilometres to raise funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
It’s the fourth time Mr Elbourne has entered this challenge – this year named as the local ambassador.
“I started off after had a bout of cancer myself it was a bit of a shock to my system and I thought this must be terrible for children”
The Challenge has raised more than $3.7 million dollars, since 2013.
