The British and Irish Lions take on a Combined Country side at Hunter Stadium tonight, but earlier today, members of the touring party paid a special tribute to the team’s first captain.
Robert Seddon drowned while boating on the Hunter River during the Lions’ tour of Australia in 1888.
He was laid to rest at Telarah cemetery.
Maitland rugby club has undertaken regular maintenance of the site.
