FIRE CREWS CONTINUE TO BATTLE BLAZES NEAR BYRON BAY

Fire crews have been working to contain a blaze burning south of Byron Bay, that forced the evacuation of residents and tourists.

The blaze broke out late yesterday after an electrical storm swept through the region.
