A teenage boy has been charged following the attempted armed robbery of a newsagency near Maitland this morning.
Police allege the 16-year-old entered the store on High Street at Largs at around 10 o’clock and threatened the owner with a knife.
The owner grabbed a wooden bat and the boy ran from the scene.
He’s due to face court tomorrow.
