In a big coup for tourism bosses, International Badminton is set to touch down on the Gold Coast.
The world mixed team championship, known as the Sudirman Cup, will take place here in 2017 – the first time the event’s been held in Australia in its 25 year history.
It’ll be a massive test run for the newly developed Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre, the host venue for Commonwealth Games badminton in 2018.
