A 33-year-old Whitebridge man is resting at home, after being bitten by a deadly funnel web spider over the weekend.
Josh Reynolds pulled on a shirt from an outdoor clothes drying rack, when he was bitten on the neck.
By the time paramedics had taken him to The Mater Hospital, Mr Reynolds was in cardiac arrest.
Fortunately doctors were able to revive him and he was given antivenom.
The incident has prompted a warning from the Australian Reptile Park, with February marking the start of the breeding season.
