Police are treating a fire, which badly damaged a section of Inverell High School, as suspicious.
Fire and Rescue New South Wales were called to the school on Brae Street at around 1:30pm, where they found the roof of the industrial arts building well alight.
Crews managed to contain the blaze a short time later.
Staff and students were evacuated without injury.
