Five fire units were called to a house fire at Mayfield this afternoon.
A rear flat at a house in Barenya Street was well alight when fire fighters arrived.
Flames being fanned by a fresh breeze presented a real risk to neighbouring houses and were quickly tackled but not before spreading to a fence line and into the roof of the main house.
The rear of the property was extensively damaged. No one was injured.
