A truck driver has had a lucky escape, after his b-double burst into flames north of Coffs Harbour.
He was traveling along the Pacific Highway at Halfway Creek at around 1am, when a fellow truck driver noticed smoke and radioed the man to pull over.
Within minutes, the rig was engulfed in flames.
A local resident says he was woken to the sounds of tyres exploding.
It’s believed a wheel bearing siezed and sparked the fire.
